Effective immediately, the U.S. Embassy has announced that all applicants for F, M, and J nonimmigrant visas must set their personal social media accounts to 'public'.

This step is part of enhanced security screening to verify the identity and eligibility of visa applicants.

This rule applies in addition to the existing requirement since 2019, where applicants must provide their social media IDs in the visa form.

Every visa decision is treated as a national security matter by the U.S. Government.

Action Required: Applicants must check and update their social media privacy settings before visa interviews.
